Plant more trees.....Go Green....Help save the Environment by joining the Heritage Lions Club tree-planting event on September 18, 2010 (Saturday) morning at Austin Drive Park in Markham!

Ontario York Region Heritage Lions Club, in support to the Tree for Tomorrow project of Town of Markham, is hosting a Tree-Planting event on September 18, 2010 (Saturday) morning from 9.30am to 12noon at Austin Drive Park in Markham.
 
We are calling for 150 volunteers to join us to plant over 1,000 trees on the day.

Who are we? 

We are a non-profit organization serving the community of York Region 

Our Mission 

  1. to actively participate in the community as a service group
  2. to educate and encourage the younger generation to positively participate in the Canadian society
  3. to nurture younger Canadians to develop their sense of responsibility to serve society through mobilizing them to organize and participate in sports, art and recreational activities
  4. to provide opportunities for leadership development
  5. to help bridge the gap between Chinese Canadians and all other members of Canadian society: by actively participating in 'mainstream' activities in liaison with Lions Clubs International; by introducing and sharing the Chinese heritage and values with 'mainstream' Canadians through cultural and educational projects
  6. to uphold a spirit of sharing and service as laid out by Lions Clubs International
