OYRHLC has the Summer Park clean up at TooGood Pond park on June 23rd. It was a fun day to serve in the summer weather!
OYRHLC held the Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides at Richmond Green Park on May 26th, 2019. Thanks to all the walkers, volunteers, lions and everyone supported the walk. With the your support together with over 50 walkers and 20 dogs, we are able to raise over $3,300 for the Lions Foundation of Canada dog guides service. Thank you!
Our lions participated in the Community tree planting at Oakridge Community on May 11th. It was a fun activity to plant trees in a nice spring weather!
Our lions participated in the 10,000 Trees 30th Anniversary Spring Tree Planting on April 28th. It was a memorable experience to plant trees with so many volunteers together in our community.
OYRHLC had the Standard First Aid course with CPR&AED (Level C) held in March 9th and 10th. Thanks to St. John Ambulance First Aid instructor Mr. Ben Lo being the course instructor, 5 of our club members with 4 friends and families have completed the course. It was a fun weekend and this valuable training make us better equipped to serve the community!
Ontario York Region Heritage Lions Club held the 12th Annual Effective Speaking Contest at Markham Civic Center's Council Chamber on March 3rd, 2019.
With 27 contestants competed in this year contest, this is a record at our club contests history. It was an fantastic opportunity to see our next generation showcasing their communication skills and also awareness on different social and global issues. Once again, congratulations to all the winners, and thanks to all the contestants, parents, educators, judges, sponsors, volunteers and lions helped making it happen!

We are happy to have DG JC Lagrange visit our club in the January members meeting. It is always exciting to hear about new service initiatives and have the joy he brings us!

We are in great sadness with the passing of Lion Alfred Hui. Lion Alfred was chartered member and past president of OYRHLC. He contributed countless time and effort to the community and development of the club. He was also a great mentor to many of our members. Thanks for PCC Dale St. John and Lions from the district, a Lions service was held at Elgin Mill Cemetery in October 20th. We will always remember Lions Alfred as we serve.
Thanks to the help from Markham Chinese Baptist Church Light Tree Fellowship, OYRHLC has the Summer Park Clean up on August 18th. 14 volunteers from the fellowship worked together with our members cleaning up the Toogood Pond Park. It was a beautiful day and we look forward to work together again!
With the beginning of a new Lions year, OYRHLC is excited to have two new members Lion Christy Lung and Lion Ryan Lau being inducted to our club by MDA Council Chair Tim Cheung. Our club officers of 2018-2019 were installed by DG JC Lagrange. Thanks to all the guests, friends and families who have joined us for this memorable moment. It is a new year of more works and services to be done and WE SERVE together.
