The Heritage Lions Support Operation Christmas Child!
This weekend, 8 Lions and their families came together to pack 10 shoeboxes filled with gifts and essential items for children in need.
It was a warm and meaningful way to kick off the festive season. Serving together, sharing joy, and spreading love to communities beyond our own.
The Ontario York Region Heritage Lions Club, in collaboration with the Opera One Association and Julia and Friends, co-hosted the Mental Wellness Expo 2025 'Family Talks, Harmony Rocks!' Day 2 on October 25, 2025, at the Ark Christian Community Church in Markham.
The event brought together over 20 community organizations, each hosting an informative booth to raise awareness about mental wellness and elderly abuse prevention. Attendees also enjoyed three insightful seminars delivered by expert speakers, offering valuable perspectives and practical guidance on mental health and community care. We were delighted to welcome over 100 guests and participants who joined us in this meaningful initiative.
A heartfelt thank you to all our partnering organizations, sponsors, volunteers, and Lions members, your support made this event a success and helped strengthen community awareness on the importance of mental wellness.
The Heritage Lions participated in the 10,000 Trees for the Rouge Valley's tree planting. It is an amazing weekend we can work together to reforest the land with care.
The Heritage Lions continues the used eyeglasses collections throughout the year of 2025. With the support of our community partners, we have collected over 2,000 pairs of eyeglasses and lens in 2025. The vision service is one pillar of our services continuing through these years and will keep going on.
The Heritage Lions had the Fall Park Clean up at Toogood Pond Park on Oct 5th, 2025. 7 Lions and families participated in the clean up.
The Heritage Lions jointed force with the Opera One Association and Julian and Friends co-hosting the Mental Wellness Expo 2025 - Family Talks, Harmony Rocks! It is a two days series event. The first day of Expo held in Agincourt Community Recreation Centre, Scarborough on Sept 20. It was a great day the Heritage Lions able to meet with elderly in the community to raise awareness on mental wellness and elderly abuse.
On Sept 13, four of the Heritage Lions were participating in the Community Barbecue hosting by the Ward 8 Councilor Lion Isa. It was a great opportunity the Heritage Lions meeting different organizations and residents in the neighborhood area to strength our furture services.
The Heritage Lions had the Summer Park Clean up at Toogood Pond Park on Aug 10th, 2025. 9 Lions and families participated in the clean up today. It was a great summer outdoor day serving together with the youngsters!
We are excited to welcome our two newest members Lion King (Ah Zabenya~~) and Lion Daphne joining the Heritage Lions! Thanks to PDG Lion Barry McDonald being our induction and installation officer, the club officers for 2025-2026 are also inducted. Thanks to all the Lions and friends celebrate with us in this ceremony. It is start of our new Lions Year for new services and actions!
As a part two of the Heritage Lions Club - Markham Unionville Rotary Club joint summer food drive, the Heritage Lions and Rotarians work with over 30 volunteers and the Markham Fire Services on July 5 collecting food from the bags distributed earlier. Thank you to all the volunteers and donors making this food drive happen!
